Abstract

This body of work marks Pamela Frankel Fiedler’s first return to Abstract painting since studying Fine Art at San Francisco State University. “I set out to make an abstract background for a figure but got carried away in an overwhelming sense of deja vu. It was as if my artistic Abstract mindset had never left me. I thought that titling the resulting painting ‘Frankly Entitled,’ was certainly apropos. My main concentration remains on creating figurative work, but I still throw an Abstract into the mix every now and then.”

ABSTRACT TECHNIQUE: Canvases are painted with acrylic, metallic pigments and oils to develop a multi-layer and subtly textured surface. “Just on the Right Side of Madness to be True,” was created to accompany the figurative work in Pamela’s solo exhibition, “A Mild Case of Madness.”
